I’m Josh Moews (pronounced Maze – though Meows gets a laugh too), a licensed Master Electrician with over 25 years in the field. I’ve worked on homes, commercial buildings, motor control systems—you name it. After decades of hands-on work, I started Moews Electrical Solutions & Services to keep doing what I enjoy: wiring clean, solving problems, and working with people one-on-one.
I live just outside Peoria with my wife and daughter. They’re a big part of why I do this—and also the ones who keep me grounded (and remind me to stop talking about work at the dinner table).
Why I Started This Business
I’ve had the opportunity to work with a lot of great teams and learn from some sharp minds. But over time, I realized I wanted to simplify how I work. I enjoy having a direct connection with the person I’m helping, and I like being hands-on from the first look at the panel to the last device trim-out.
This isn’t about doing it better than anyone else—it’s just about doing it my way: clear, methodical, and with attention to the details that make the job last.
What to Expect
Honest conversations
Clean, code-compliant work
Thoughtful layouts and logical wiring
No unnecessary upsells
Realistic timelines and real follow-through
One More Thing
I just like wiring things well—and if it looks simple, that’s because I overthought it before I showed up.
In addition to my business, I also volunteer on a lighting design team for Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Illinois and Missouri. We use Dialux software to plan lighting layouts, and I often work alongside skilled and unskilled volunteers. These projects consistently turn out safe, clean, and professional—because good training and teamwork go a long way.
Separately, my professional career has spanned some incredible electrical projects:
- Robotics and assembly lines
- Hospital surgical suites and ERs
- 13kV feeders and Pfisterer terminations
- Wastewater treatment plants
- Facility-wide security and fire alarm systems
- Full-scale fiber optic networks
- Hot/cold test control systems
- Motor control centers and PLC upgrades
If it involved control wiring, clean terminations, or solving tough problems, I was probably in the middle of it. I bring that same care and field-tested experience to every project I take on now—big or small.
